Ashorne A small village local with a pleasant atmosphere and a friendly welcome. Both the split-level bar and the dining area have a log fire in winter months. Four changing guest ales are mainly from micro brewers and compliment the weekly food promotions. The seasonal dishes on the menu are home cooked using local produce. A popular quiz night is held on the last Sunday of every month and traditional pub games like shut the box are enjoyed by locals and visitors alike. Full details
Avon Dassett Previously called the Prince Rupert, this traditional olde worlde village inn boasts flegstone floors and real fires. Good honest pub food includes 64 different ways to eat the landlady's home-made pies! Live music on Friday nights and a Wii night on Sundays! Externally attractive all year with summer and winter flowers filling the many hanging baskets and pots. In Mid June it hosts live music with a pig roast and BBQ for the village soapbox derby raising money for charity. Gluten free menu. Full details
Barford An extended Gerogian pub, the main part retains its essential three-bay symmetry. The interior was totally refurbished early in 2005 in a light contemporary style.
Three separate rooms, a bar area for drinking and dining where smoking is permitted, a lounge with soft leather sofas and an open fire during the winter months for non-smoking dining. Separate totally non smoking dining room, seating up to 60, available for private hire mid week.
Comprehensive food menu, with changing specials board. Traditional Sunday Lunch served 12pm to 4.30pm. Extensive wine list, wines supplied by a small local independent wine merchant
Landscaped large outdoor garden and dining area.
Until early the 2005 the pub was called the Granville Arms. The Granville family once owned nearby Wellesbourne Hall.
Easy to reach from the M40 at junction 15 (Longbridge), take the A429 sign posted to Stow. Full details Named after founder of the agricultural workers union, a local man. Previously this pub was called the Old Red Lion, and at one time was owned by the Flowers brewery of Stratford on Avon. No food on Mondays. Full details Bascote Heath Rather isolated rural pub. Reopened in April 2004. Now owned by Black Country Inns, whose estate of pubs is mainly in and around Halesowen, the Great Western has undergone extensive rebuilding. At one stage, almost the entire interior had been gutted.
Food is served all day.
O gauge model railway inside and a full-size Hudswell Clarke 0-4-0 DM type D604 diesel shunter (new 1936) outside.
